Visitors to the park should expect changeable weather. Kilauea's summit, at
4,000 feet above sea level, can be rainy and chilly any time of the year. The
coastal area is usually warm and dry. Come prepared. Bring a windbreaker or
rain jacket, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
